Have you ever heard of Vikings the buffet place? I ask because well, I’ve never heard of it. The only time I’ve learned of its existence was when the husband took me there for a lunch date. He brought me to the SM Marikina branch, a mall I rarely visit. Apparently there’s also one in Mall of Asia and just a few days ago, there was a grand opening of its newest branch in SM North Edsa The Block.

This was the entrance. I found it a tad bit weird that the name of the restaurant is Vikings but the overall look and feel of the resto is Oriental. There seems to be a disconnect. I also wonder if I’m the only one pondering these kinds of thoughts when I should merely be focused on pigging out like the rest of the hungry mob waiting to be seated that day.

Inside

Love the lighting fixtures over the sushi station
This place is huge!
Each section offers a different kind of cuisine. They offer European, Japanese, Chinese, American and Filipino dishes plus a huge dessert spread. I’ll show you that later.
The buffet spread never ends! Well, of course it does. I’m exaggerating.
My personal uniform. The banyo is nice by the way. Clad with very modern functional fixtures. Nothing too girly. My kind of banyo.
On to the food porn…
Loved the Blinis (tiny pancakes). Munching on them makes me feel like a giant.
Cold cuts, salami, cheeses and pates
Some of the trays got emptied the moment they were replenished. A lot of very hungry people in this place.
The maki station was pretty popular. Everything got wiped out so quickly!

My first plate was filled with these
Nice to look at. Didn’t bother trying though.
I didn’t take photos of everything but if I did, this post will have to broken into two or three parts. The buffet place was that huge.
Now on to the desserts!
For the gummy candy addicts
Chocolate fountain anyone? There was also a strawberry fondue I forgot to take a photo of but just by looking at it, I felt a toothache coming on. haha.

The dessert station was well-stocked and the mini-cakes were enclosed in a glass fridge to maintain their consistency. You just have to choose which ones you want and the servers would gladly bring out the desserts for you.

Panna Cotta, Puddings and Mousse

Pinoy desserts

As I already had four platefuls of food (you better believe it), I decided to carefully curate my dessert plate to just these three. A red velvet cake, truffle cake and mango panna cotta.

Since I started my diet, the last time I’ve been in a real buffet was ages ago so that afternoon was particularly blissful for me. Screw the calories!
If you’re interested to give this buffet a try, Lunch is 688+,Weekday Dinner is 888+, Weekend Lunch and Dinner plus Holiday is 1088+. Make sure to come with an empty stomach and most importantly, make reservations in advance.

Drool! I love to try Vikings! They say it’s way better than Yakimix and I actually don’t like Yakimix. Hehe
Thanks for the review, Aimee!
Go for it Sha! You can eat to your heart’s content!
I haven’t tried Yakimix but since you don’t like it maybe I won’t na. haha.
Yakimix is okay, but I find their food not so yummy and ordinary. There’s nothing really special about the taste, it’s just an ordinary buffet for me.
MOA may be a little far from you but I suggest you try Buffet 101 in case you’re in the area
Stay away from their dessert plate kasi mejo bland yung taste for me (alam mo nmn I’m a sucker of sweets). Haha. But their crepe, waffles and the rest from their menu are great.
And yeah! dapat talaga gutom. At konting rice lang para makarami
Where is Buffet 101?
It’s at the Seaside – San Miguel by the Bay area. Near Microtel
Mukhang yummy yung mga panacotta, mousse & puddings. That section is probably what I would go back to many times over. Thanks for sharing, Aimee!
At talaga nman. Super payat na!;)
Yup that section was one of my favorites. Thanks Peachy!
Yuuuuum! I just got hungry.
Do they have a grill selection as well?
Yup they do. It’s at the further end of the Resto so I wasn’t able to linger much in that section. Feasted on sushi and dumplings instead
Ang nagstand-out sa kin yung photo mo..ang payat mo!
Hihi. Thanks Cris!
I’ve actually just recently heard of it! A week ago to be exact. Funny now you’re reviewing it
Hay, I want another buffet!!!
Haha. Go for it Dew!
